Ford Motor Company has, in fact, issued three safety recalls covering more than 800,000 vehicles in North America, for separate issues.

2013-17 Ford Explorer

This past Friday, the company announced it was recalling about 775,000 Explorer SUVs for a steering issue related to reports of six injuries. They were in North America. Model years 2013-2017 may experience a seized cross-axis ball joint. In fact, it could cause a fractured rear-suspension toe link. This would greatly diminish the steering control and thereby diminish steering control. Then escalate the risk of crashing.

In North America, the recall covers 676,152 vehicles. More those including vehicles that are in high-corrosion states. It is defining by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Or in regions that do experience a combination of cold, winter weather with very great levels of high humidity. Plus a significant use of road salt.

In China, there are 736,087 other vehicles being recalling. Also, elsewhere across the globe which includes 13,162 in Europe. As well as 190 in South America. In the Chicago Assembly Plant, the vehicle being recalling was built there between September 4th, 2012, and September 4, 2017. Plus the Elabuga Assembly Plant in Russia between January 28, 2013, and July 28, 2017.

For this recall, the reference number is 21S32.

2020-2021 F-350 Super Duty

Another model recalled is the F-350 Super Duty. It is for a rear axle housing spring seat interface weld issue. Moreover, this issue is for approximately 35,000 vehicles with a 6.7-liter engine.

In fact, the involved vehicles may encounter rear driveline disconnection. Therefore, customers may feel a vibration and/or shaking when driving at highway speeds. In addition to shuddering upon acceleration. Moreover, if there is a disconnected driveshaft, customers can experience a loss. That is of motive power while driving. Or a loss of transmission park function. That is if the parking brake is not applying. This can increase the risk of a crash.

Moreover, this move affects 34,855 vehicles in North America. Thus the remaining balance of vehicles was found in Ford’s International Markets Group. Between August 6, 2020, and on May 15th of this year, there were vehicles being recalled. They were, in fact, built at the Kentucky Truck Plant.

2020-2021 Lincoln Aviator

The carmaker is recalling just over 40,000 2020 and 2021 model year Lincoln Aviators. This is a third recall issued on Friday. The Aviators are equipping with 3.0-liter gas engines. The recall is due to the battery cable wire harness possibly not being properly securing. This would allow contact with the A/X compressor pulley. Thereby creating the possibility of a fire.
