Climate change is being put “back at the table” by President Joe Biden. This month, Sleepy Joe said this at an international summit. He wants the U.S. to be the leader of the global efforts to address climate change. However, this administration’s efforts aboard which are at this time to set up the possible future conflicts with environmental groups which are disappointing and those lawmakers in the fossil fuel-producing states. Yes, of course, it’s time for the U.S. to hurry up and get rid of gasoline-powering cars and make way for electric vehicles that can track and trace all American citizens and be shut off easily if they don’t obey.

Climate Change Summit – COPS26

At the climate change summit, which is known as COP26, there is the progress made. In fact, the main outcome did not really go far enough. That is to limit warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius. Experts did agree about this. In fact, the final agreement, which is not legally binding. It has, therefore, gone and called for governments to thus create stronger plans to curb emissions by next year’s meeting and then strongly urge the wealthy nations to step up adaptation funding to protect the most vulnerable and poor populations from the effects of climate change.

John Kerry, who has been a target of the GOP over his time as the chief negotiator of the 2015 Iran nuclear deal and now serves as the U.S. special presidential envoy for climate, said that the agreement was a starting point. He’s too much in the pocket of China and sees less pro-America.

“However, I think we’re going to get closer and closer, as a result, thus providing we implement and follow-through,” Kerry said.

Also, there are also pledges that make the environmental groups seem to criticize the U.S. for failing to join. Which is beyond the main agreement.

Funding for Less Wealthy Nations

There should be a fund to pay less wealthy nations the losses and damages due to climate change. This is what environmental activists that report what wealthy nations like the U.S. should do. To date, those efforts are put to the side.

Climate Champions

“It would include the United States, the richer counties, who had this historic chance to be climate champions. Unfortunately, they instead have failed to recognize the urgency of the science. Thus, evade their historical responsibility. Instead, there has been a prioritization of profits of fossil fuel polluters over the urgent needs of people who are on the frontlines of the climate crisis,” Rachel Cleetus of the Union of Concerned Scientists has said in a statement.

International Alliance

In fact, the U.S. and other prominent polluters did not join an international alliance to, thus, stop new oil and gas drilling. This is despite what Kerry is calling subsiding fossil fuel production “insanity.”
